What Are The Chances Of My Second Baby Getting Affected With Retino Pigmentosa?

Hi I am lakshmi from Bangalore

My maternal side has a genetic problem of retino pigmentosa and all the second boy child in the family are affected adn the girl children are carriers. I have had one child and i want to have another one, but i am afraid that if it is a boy he can be affected by this disease. please can you tell me if this can be detected somehow?

It cannot be detected or predicted. there are 60 variety of retinitis pigmantosa take genetic counseling for some idea. your information i snot correct. however till now there is no-treatment known. diminution of vision will be there but total blind ness is less.
