Dear Madam,
One miscarriage per se doe not lead to
infertility though the chances of repeat abortion are slightly higher.
However, no conception for 2 hours calls for investigations. They are to evaluate the following aspects:
1. Capacity of a woman to release the eggs regularly: There are many tests for this. Only one level of FSH is not sufficient. LH levels are also important. Also the other hormones like Oestrogen,
Progesterone and Prolactin hormones are also good indicators to evaluate egg formation. Ovulation monitoring by
ultrasonography gives direct visual evidence of egg formation.
2. Patency of the woman's genital tract to allow the travel of sperms to the eggs: Tests like
Laparoscopy,
Hysterosalpingography, etc. give this information.
3. Formation and ejaculation of normal sperms : can be evaluated by semen examination.
If after two years honest trial for conception, you have failed to conceive, you will have to undergo all these investigations. However, one good point is that once you have proved that you can conceive; hence, you stand a good chance to conceive again.
Please report to your Gynaecologist and get thoroughly investigated.
I hope this helps you.
