Hi dear, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.Taking emergency contraceptive pills within 24-26 hours of unprotected intercourse is 95-98% effective in preventing the pregnancy. The bleeding due to its effect occurs within 5-7 days of its intake. It has the side effect of delaying the next expected periods by 2-3 weeks. Hope you found the answer helpful.
