OBGYN, Maternal and Fetal Medicine 's  Response
Hi, I have gone through your question. Unprotected intercourse can lead to pregnancy. If her periods are delayed, then the chances of conception are increased.
I would suggest your wife to get a urine pregnancy test done and if positive, then she can consult an OBGYN specialist for the termination of pregnancy. Abortion can be done by both medical or surgical method, medical method is recommended in her case in view of early pregnancy.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
Wishing you good health.
