Hi,
I understand your concern.
Thalassemia can be diagnosed by specific blood testing to detect genetic mutation causing thalassemia. It seems you doctor has already advised for the same.
- Baby can inherit depending on the status of both parents about thalassemia.( According to Mendals on law of inheritance)
-Bany has risk of developing spina bifida .. this can be prevented if mother has taken folic acid in pregnancy.
- Delivery has to be hospital delivery.. for ease of management of anemis/ LSCS delivery.
Thanks.
