I am 60 years old and in excellent health. I was prescribed pred forte (4x/day) and prolensa (2x/day) for nine solid months beginning six months after cystoid macular edema (Irvine Gass probably) was discovered soonafter my cataract surgery in May of 2013. The regimen, started late, did not work and I am content to no longer treat my CME symptoms. QUESTION: What are the negative effects that might occur as time passes, and what might be the possibility of their occurrence, related to my taking a steroid, especially, for that amount of time so consistently? What should I watch for?
