What Are The Consequences Of Having A Fibroid During Pregnancy?
Hi, I m 9weeks pregnant and the gyn discovered I av fibroid in my left ovary. She prescribed Gupisone 5mg to be taken twice daily. I m really scared because this is my first pregnancy and it was achieved through ivf. Is it safe fpr the fetus? Thanks

A fibroid cyst in the ovary usually can only cause harm as they are sensitive to the hormone estrogen. When estrogen is in high levels (as is during pregnancy), the fibroid tends to grow much more than usual. Although it does not cause any direct harm to the fetus, it does utilize much of the hormone available. So it would be wise for your doctor to adequately monitor and control hormone levels.
