What Are The Differences In Hydroxychloroquine Of Ranbaxy And Sandoz?
Hi, I'm Sheila, I have Lupus & several other problems. I was recently taking Hydroxychloroquine 200 MG, 2Xs daily, for over 6 years. My last medication was byRanbaxy. Now I'm taking by Sandoz. I'm not sure if the inactive ingredients are making me sick. Was trying to find what the difference between the 2 as far as inactive ingredients. & just learned that Ranbaxy, has been sued for over 5 million. And wanted to know why.
I have gone through your case and I can understand your concern. Both brands that produce Hydroxychloroquine, have the same inactive ingredient (full name of drug is Hydroxychloroquine sulphate), so sulphate is inactive ingredient. Your problem is related to side effects from longterm use, while using hydroxychloroquine, you may need frequent blood tests. Some people taking this medication over long periods of time or at high doses have developed irreversible damage to the retina of the eye. Stop taking hydroxychloroquine and call your doctor at once if you have trouble focusing, if you see light streaks or flashes in your vision, or if you notice any swelling or color changes in your eyes.
