What Are The Early Signs And Symptoms Of Pregnancy?

I am 40 years old and of course I realize this makes me high risk. I have 3 children, no complications and all vaginal births. I am 3 months and have had 3 ultrasounds. The first was at 7 weeks and the heart rate was 149, the second ultrasound was at 10 weeks and the heart rate was 180. All looked good and development on schedule. I have and am still having all the symptoms of pregnancy. Although my morning sickness is not as bad I am tired, pee all the time, headaches, sore breasts. I had an ultrasound today and I should be 12 weeks, however, no heartbeat was detected. I was told it appears the baby may have died 11 days ago. Although I did not see the heartbeat either, the development was far more advanced from my last ultrasound. I hate to be in denial but I can't seem to believe this. All was fine, still feel all the symptoms, and am having no cramps, bleeding, etc. I still feel very much pregnant. The ultrasound was only done for less than a minute...is it possible that the baby is ok??

Hi,
I understand your concern.
The degree of Morning sickness varies from pregnancy to pregnancy. The progress & development of the pregnancy seems to be normal till the recent sonography.
Heart beat can be observed in USG scan,it's very obvious. One minute is sufficient time to diagnose it.
Still you can have a follow up scan to confirm /satisfy your own psyche

This seems to to be a missed abortion- where baby stops growing . The cause mostly is nonviable pregnancy.which can be a chance/The incidence is observed to increase with increase in maternal age at time of conception.
Mostly bleeding starts few days after the missed abortion . As pregnancy hormones remain to exist for about 4 weeks even after the incidence- the signs & symptoms of pregnancy continue till hormones come sufficiently down.
Thanks.
