What Are The Effect Of Inj Efcorlin And Tab Wysolene On Sugar Levels?

hello doctor, Kindly let me know the effect of the following medicines on sugar levels- Inj Efcorlin 100mg(every 6th hr- totaly 4injs), tab wysolene 5mg -twice daily fr 1 wk.. I was prescribed these for treatment of allergic swelling in my face due to hair colouring. my sugar levels were high.. when can I go for a sugar check up a next? what will be the side effects of the above steroids? Pls advise.. Now the medicines are stopped and iam ok. expecting a reply from you doctor.

Both Efcorlin 100 mg injection and Wysolene 5 mg are steroids : hydrocortisone and Prednisolone respectively. They have been prescribed to reduce swelling and inflammation from the allergy reaction you had from hair colouring. One of the side effects of steroids is to impair the balance of blood sugar levels causing them to get high.

It might require a few days until a couple of weeks for the blood sugar to get back to normal levels again after the last steroid dose you took. So, to me wait for a couple of weeks and get the blood sugar checked again. Meanwhile, try to take supplement to reduce blood sugar naturally.
