What Are The Effects Of Gallbladder Removal On The Bladder ?
What are the effects of gallbladder removal on the bladder ? My mother has had hers removed yesterday and now it seems that she can't hold her urine. Is this something to be concerned about?
HELLO! I AM A NURSE AND HAVE WORKED IN A HOSPITAL FOR SEVERAL YEARS...IT IS PERFECTLY NORMAL TO HAVE TROUBLE HOLDING YOUR URINE FOR A COUPLE DAYS AFTER ANY SURGERY DUE TO A FOLEY CATHETER BEING PLACED IN THE URETHRA DURING SURGERY...THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO RECOVER FROM THAT VARIES FOR EACH PERSON...ALSO THE ELDERLY TEND TO TAKE LONGER FOR THAT TO GET BETTER....
Hi,
Gallbladder removal does not have any effect on bladder function, but she may be recovering from anaesthesia which sometime may result in difficult in urination but she will be alright within a day
