What Are The Long Term Effects Of Not Having A Hip Bone And Joint?

I am a t12 parapeligic. I broke my hip in 2011 and had an unsuccessful hip replacement. The doctor removed all the hardware and now I have nothing and pretty much told me they could do nothing to repair it so it would stay. I have started experiencing lower back pain. Are there long term effects from not having a hip bone and joint? What kind of specialist should I go see?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
There is definitely limb shortening on the affected site. This leads to compensatory scoliotic deformity of spine. It may leads to paraspinal muscle spasm and pain. Later stage may lead to neurological compression.
