What Are The Medical Hazards Of Taking Fosamax Along With Xarelto And Flecainide Acetate?
What are the medical hazard or medical reaction to taking ,Fasamax, which has just been subscribed to me. I also take Xarelto 20 MG 1 daily & Flecainide Acetate 100MG twice daily...these are taken for Atrifibulation. I am 72 years old & retired. Otherwise, I am fairly healthy...not overweight, good steady blood pressure, non-smoker, non-alcohol drinker, average colesterol.
Fosamax has been prescribed to you for osteoporosis and it has mainly gastrointestinal side effects such as stomach pain, diarrhea, vomiting etc.
Xarelto is an anticoagulant and its major side effect is nasal and gum bleeding so you should be checking your bleeding time and INR at regular intervals while taking this medicine.
Flecainide Acetate which has been prescribed for atrial fibrillation has also gastrointestinal side effects.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Prabhash Verma,
