What Are The Pale White Patches On My Face?

Hello Dr. Prasad I live in Hyderabad, recently I noticed pale white patches on my face especially around the corners of my lips and on cheeks.What could be the reason for it.Also please suggest me some good dermatologists in Hyderabad. Thank You Prija

Hello. Thanks for writing to us at healthcaremagic.

White patch is most likely to be due to Pityriasis Alba.

If I was your treating doctor I would have asked you to use either a moderately potent topical steroid e.g fluticasone, twice daily for 2- 4 weeks OR you could also use a topical immunomodulator e.g tacrolimus ointment twice daily, for 4 weeks or so.

These are prescription medicines, therefore, I would advice that you see a dermatologist for a confirmatory diagnosis as well as a prescription for these medicines
