radial nerve doesn't go to palmar side of hand or index finger..its most likely a secondary response to tissue injury or impacted material inside...make sure nothing is inside by getting an x ray..if every thing is fine..use pain killers along with topical steroid ointments..it llsubside. ongoing inflammatory process
