What Are The Possible Treatments For Diarrhea?

i took bactrim ds tablet 1 time. not even 2 hours later i threw up 2 times in an hour. then had dirarea 3 times. the last time i woke up in my own feces all over bed. i have a surgery at 1:30pm today and need to know what to take to stop the dierrea now until i go to doctors for surgery

Hi,

Since your vomiting and diarrhea started after taking Bactrim DS tablet, this may be probably due to the side effect of the medication. If you have not taken this tablet any time in past do not repeat the tablet and consult your Doctor immediately to see for any other adverse reaction.

Surgery may need to be postponed. Your Doctor on examination can suggest you the medications for diarrhea and vomiting as per the cause found on clinical evaluation and examination and if needed additional investigations.

Till then have plenty of fluids to avoid dehydration if there is no vomiting. Take an antihistamine.
