Perindopril is a long-acting angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, which is used to treat high blood pressure, heart failure or stable coronary artery disease. It works by relaxing blood vessels, which helps to lower blood pressure. It is essential to assess renal function before and during treatment with this medication.
Side effects are mild and is usually seen at the start of treatment. These include cough, fatigue, body aches or pain, nasal congestion, headache, disturbances of mood and/or sleep. As the body gets used to the medication, these side effects if present should disappear. Kindly take the medication as prescribed and do the necessary follow-up.
