What Are The Reasons For Black Stool?

I have had a dark black stool for the last three days. I am thinking that that would blood in the small intestine or I have eaten a ton of licorice. Different foods do not change the color at all. .Hi, can I answer your health question? Please type your question here...

There can be various reasons for black stool as
- bleeding ulcer
- inflammatory bowel condition as IBS or others
- hemorrhoids
- side effect of certain drugs
- certain food stuffs changing intestine flora
- others.
