Hello,

Her blood sugar levels are well under control. The pain and burning sensation in her foot is due to Diabetic neuropathy. It is a complication of long standing diabetes in which the the nerve is damaged.
In this situation I would advice my patient to keep her blood sugar under control. This will help slow the progression of the disease.
Secondly drugs like Gabapentin may be prescribed to relive the pain.
