What Are The Reasons Of Pain During Urination And Cramps On Right Side After Removing Spleen A Year Ago?

Hi, I have very strong urine and it started to hurt while urinating YESTERDAY...probably a UTI.. Last week I had cramps on my right side .... What do you think? I also has my spleen removed this past summer, what are tings I should be doing to supplement not having one? I am 55 yrs old and healthy otherwise...

Hi and tthanks you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this burning during urination. This often suggest a urinary infection and you would need antibiotics to get treated. Only your treating doctor can prescribe these medications. Please, get consulted and treated while it is still simple before it gets complicated.

After splenctomy, you are prone to infections cause by germs like Haemophilus, salmonella, pnemococcus, etc. Talk with your doctor and get vaccinated against these according to the local counsels.
