What Are The Red Patches On My Thighs And Calves After Expose To Sunlight?

i was recently out in the sun and my legs were in the sunlight, so naturally they felt warm. but after a little while i noticed bright red honeycomb shaped marks appearing on my thighs and calves. why did this happen? i recall it happening a few times in the past, but normally not this bad. should i be concerned?
