Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My mother is having excess bleeding from yesterday. before bleeding she perspired a lot. she took one trapic mf tablet yesterday. but today it is happening again. she didnot had her period for last 5 months. she is 46 years old. Doctor please tell me some measures how to control it
Hi I can understand your concern for your beloved mother.
Trapic MF (Tranexamic acid + Mefenamic acid helps to decrease the uterine bleeding during the periods. Usually well tolerated however, its common side effects include nausea, vomiting, gastritis, headache, fall in BP, giddiness, etc. Since her bleeding is not controlled with this medicine then she may need an urgent gynecologist's consultation for possible hormonal treatment and or blood transfusion or packed red blood cells.
You must also see that she takes iron supplements & plenty of green leafy vegetables and fluids during the bleeding to prevent excessive bleeding. Hope this answers your query.
A feed back is appreciated.
