What Are The Side Effect Of Meprate 10mg In Pregnancy?

The last menstrual period of my wife was happen on 20th august, as there was no continuity of period we test for pregnancy on 28 th september, and it was negative. we met the doctor and he prescribed meprate 10mg for 5 days(10 tablet). But yet the period was not started, again we check for pregnancy test on 16 th October and it was positive then. Will the use of this medicine effect our baby or may it produce complicacy during pregnancy?

Hi,

Meprate tablet contains ingredient called Medroxy progesterone and is contraindicated in pregnancy. However, it is not known to cause fetal abnormalities in studies carried out by various forums.
