Sir can u tell me the side effects of betnovate N. because iam using betnovate n from 3 years to face now some body told that it will give some some skin problems so i left fome 3 days so can give any advice please its request...give me a solution becoz again my face s looking very dull and pimples is coming so please...

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.

I have reviewed your query and here is my advice. Betnovate is a mid potent steroid. It should not be used on face even though steroid is indicated. And remember it is not used to treat acne. On the contrary, it may precipitate or exacerbate acne. Acneiform eruption, atrophy of skin, depigmentation, and telangiactesia are the major side effects of betnovate. You may apply clindamycine or adapalene gel on acne lesions. And you may take orally, cap minocycline 50 mg daily one till you get good result.

You may do face wash with glycolic acid and kojic acid containing face wash to improve the glow of face.
