Klonepin (clonazepam) belongs to a class called benzodiazepines. On long term use, they cause dependence. Other effects include increased sleepiness, drowsiness, memory impairment, problems in coordination, fatigue and others.
Dependance would not be a major problem if you are taking it as and when needed. You can experience other side effects even if you are taking intermittently. I would advice my patient to take low dosages only when absolutely needed if they are too much concerned about side effects. Hope this helps you. Thanks.
