What Are The Side Effects Of Alkalol?
How can i clear out crusty hard scabs from deepin my nose behind my nose i use alkalol mucus cleanser for years but it irritates me to at time and saline does not go far enough to reach the spot after radiation years ago in head and neck this is a horrible side affect can u tell me what else i can try.

I can understand your concern as dryness in nose is a trouble-some side effect of radiation.
You are using Alkalol mucus cleanser .Alkalol is a unique blend of naturally antiseptic ingredients, including: Purified Water ; Menthol; Eucalyptol; Thymol; Camphor; Benzoin; Oils of Wintergreen, Spearmint, Pine, and Cinnamon; Potassium Alum; Potassium Chlorate; Sodium Bicarbonate; Sodium Chloride.Few ingredients in it like camphor,eucalyptus may cause irritation.
You may also get relief by following things:
1.)Akaline Nasal Douching
This is the application of a salt water solution to thin down nasal secretions and improve the nasal environment.
To make up the solution you will need 1 pint of clean water that
has been boiled and cooled to body temperature, You will then
need to add 1 level teaspoon of sea-salt and 1 level teaspoon
of baking soda. Once the salts are dissolved the water is ready
for use. You can either cup the water in clean hands and sniff
it gently into your nose or you can use a syringe obtained from
your pharmacy. If using a syringe you should fill the syringe with
solution and place inside one nostril at a time. The angle of
the syringe should be as thought it is aiming towards the inner
aspects of the eye and the flow of solution should be firm but
gentle.
This manoeuvere should give you relief from nasal congestion
and remove any crusts or clots from your nose when performed
after surgery.
It should not be painful and ideally you should use the entire
pint if at all possible.
You should lean forwards whilst douching your nose to avoid
swallowing any solution but do not worry if you do not swallow
some as it is not harmful.
As an alternative to making the solution yourself ,you can use ready made solutions like Nasowash(Cipla)
2.)Sleeping with a dry mist humidifier in your bedroom can help increase the humidity in your room, which can provide relief to your dry nasal passages.Also do steam inhalation.
3.)Make sure you help your body from the inside by staying hydrated. Drinking plenty of fluids like water can help moisturize your nose from the inside out preventing crust formation.
