What Are The Side Effects Of Alpha-Lipoic Acid?

I have been having vertigo problems and my doctor put me on Meclazine but the vertigo comes and goes. I am 69 years old and I am type 2 Diabetic and I have hypertension. My doctor wants me to take 600mg of Alpha Loporic Acid daily. I have never heard and I am concerned about the side affects and he said this would stop the vertigo. Please explain what this drug is . Thanks

Hello

Thank you for trusting HCM

Dear Alfa Lipoic Acid is a fatty acid present in the mitochondria. It is involved in energy metabolism and may decrease blood glucose acutely. ALA provides a short but potent reduction of oxidation by increasing anti-oxidant enzymes.

In supplement form, it has shown benefit for various forms of oxidation and inflammation. These effects protect against heart diseases, liver diseases, diabetes, and neurological decline associated with aging.

Dear possibly no side effects to this drug, But with diabetes should be careful to check their blood sugar levels because alpha-lipoic acid might lower blood sugar.

I think I answered to your question if you have more questions feel free to ask.
