What Are The Side Effects Of Amlodipine?

My doctor started me on amlodipine for high blood pressure, but I have had many different side effects from the medicine. I would like to stop taking it to see if the side effects go away again. Is it safe to just stop taking it or do you need to gradually go off?

HELLO
Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that dilates blood vessels and improves blood flow, which causes the decreasing in blood pressure and keeping it in the normal values.
But in some cases there's a number of side effects .
the most common side effects are : swelling of the ankles or feet , fatigue, palpitations, and flushing.
there's another side effects less common or rare .
if you have a minor side effect started after the begining of taking amlodipine which is tolerable don't stop the medication before visiting your doctor to decrease the dose or changing the medication.
but if you have a major side effect wich is intolerable , stop taking amlodipine and immediately visit your doctor .

Hope I answered your question
Hope you a healthy life
