What Are The Side Effects Of Azithromycin And Promethazine?

My husband came down very sick last Monday night. Went to urgent care on Friday...they tested him for flue he does not have it. They gave him Azithromycin 250mg and Promethazine DM syrup for his chest and cough. His fever has broken and is staying down...his lungs are loosening up...however, he is scarring me with talking with people who are not in the room and telling me the tv is on and it is not...and he sees purple skin when he looks at himself. He is still very weak and unstable when he gets up and walks. This has never happened before. Can you give me some explanation or advise.

I think these symptoms are mostly due to Promethazine. During on that medications may happen that patients experience things which don't really exist. I would recommend you to stop taking promethazine and continue azithromycin as it is prescribed. If the symptoms don't go away after stopping that, consider talking with your doctor for further examinations.
