Doctor,what are the side effects of carbamazepine,especially during the pregnancy time.I have been taking Tegrital for the last almost six years.Right now morning tegrital 100 and night tegrital 200.I really wish to have a kid.So is that possible doctor

Carbamazepine is a relatively safe medicine during pregnancy; if you are taking it for an EEG documented epilepsy, it is not advisable to discontinue it.
If it is for other indications, do let me know and I shall advise you whether it is absolutely necessary to continue the medicine or whether you can discontinue it to avoid the side effects due to the same in your pregnancy.
