What Are The Side Effects Of Cipralex?

Hi. I am taking Cipralex for about for about 5 weeks now and have broken out in a rash all over my body. It started on my wrists, then went to my feet and is now basically everywhere except my neck and face. It is very itching with raised bumps that sometimes have a clear discharge and then scab over. Is this normal? What can be done about it? It is very bothersomee. I also started taking Ortho 777 birth control at the same time.

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM
I have gone through your query. Your problem is most likely allergic urticaria due to antibiotic ciprofloxacin. In such case you should stop the drug and approach your doctor. I usually advise antihistamine like levocetirizine orally and calamine lotion for local application. If there is severe itching and rash I advise corticosteroid like hydrocortisone injection or short course steroid like methylprednisolone. Hope this may help you.
Let me know if you have any further queries.
Thanks.
