What Are The Side Effects Of Cortisone Injections?

I have had 2 cortisone injections this month for golfers elbow. My period has always been regular but few now I have been on my period for over a week and still going strong. What can doctor do for this if it s a side effect from cortisone and I do not take any oral contraceptives and 38 yrs old. My period has always lasted 4-5 days and not heavy like now.

Thanks for posting in HCM.
Side effects of cortisone is not known to affect menstrual periods.
It causes increased lipid levels in blood leading to atherosclerosis and coronary artery disease, increased risk of diabetes mellitus due to alterations in glucose homeostasis and weakening of the bones due to osteoporosis.
If at all you are having problems in your periods, it is not related to cortisone injections you have received. Hence that problem is a separate issue and needs evaluation and management by a Gynecologist.
