What Are The Side Effects Of Depo Provera Injection?
I am in menopause and was on depo prior to that for 17 years. I am now bleeding. I thought perhaps my period restarted but the blood on the pad is more towards the front as though it may be from my urethra. I had a kidney stone issue last month but I am not in any pain at all from that now. Should I be alarmed. I don t have a fever but the bleeding does not seem to be menstrual. so I am concerned.
Hello, Depo is synthetic form of female sexual hormone called progestrone. It may cause various side effects, including- headaches, nervousness, dizziness, weight gain and one of the most common side effects of this drug is irregular bleeding or spotting, heavy or prolonged bleeding. However as you are mentioning that you are seeing blood more on the front side and given the history of kidney stones recently, i would advice that you first speak to your gynecologist regarding the bleeding (which can be due to depo). Once he rules out depo causing bleeding, you can than talk to your nephrologist and get treated for kidney stones.
