What Are The Side Effects Of Hydrocortisone And Fludrocortisone?
Female in 60 s - I am taking hydrocortisone & fludrocortisone for Addison s Disease. Since I began, I notice very foul smelling urine. Sometimes I have frequent urination, for a day or so only. Sometimes have to urinate a few times at night, for a day or so. Worst part is the foul smell for which I even need to wear a pad as my undies get smelly. Is it the steroids? It s been this way for 4 years and I know I don t have UTI. Thanks
Though all medications have potential side effects, this is not a known side effect of these medications.
A change in odor can occur with conditions other than infections such as a bladder fistula (connection between the bladder and another surface), liver failure, concentrated urine.
You may want to consider seeing your doctor about this issue. Blood tests and imaging may be needed.
I hope this helps
