What Are The Side Effects Of Implanon Implant?
Hi.. I had my implanon inserted a year ago. My menstruation was irregular after then. I understand that is one of the side effects. But what got me worrying right now is that lately, I had my menstruation and it lasts a week and three days after (it stopped) I had sex with my husband and in the following morning my menstruation resumed and it lasts for another 1 week. We resumed sex again after a couple of days my menstruation ends. Again, in the next morning I found myself bleeding/spotting and having regular menstruation the next day.. I wonder if this is still normal or what seem to be the possible cause for the bleeding? Is this something related to the implanon? Thanks for reading and answering my query. :)

Hi,
Change in bleeding pattern including irregularity, scanty or profuse, delayed or repeated is a known side effect of Implanon.But to have profuse bleeding three times in a month,must be bothersum.I understand your concern.
It is due to hormonal disturbance in menstrual cycle due to device.
You can take rest & haemeostatic drug like CVP Gynae ( 2 capsules three times a day , to be tapered off to one capsule three times a day after the bleeding stops along with Iron tonic for 10 days.
In case bleeding repetes, a gynecological check up for other possible cause of bleeding ( like cervical polyp) is to be excluded.
