Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi I was using encorate chromo while I was India and I was seizure free and I cam to US for my education and I had a seizure and the doctor prescribed kepra where I am having side effects like hallucination which never had while I was on encorate chrono. Can change it back to encorate chrono ?
Welcome to HCM. Encornate Chromo is Sodium Valproate and Keppra is Levetiracetam. Both are good for seizure disorder. But it is well known that certain medicines work better in certain people. Since you were well controlled without any adverse effects, there is no harm in going back to it. But discuss with your treating doctor and he/ she ought to agree, if there are no other issues. Wish you good health. Dr. Noble Zachariah
