What Are The Side Effects Of Lipitor?

Hi, I was just prescribed (Atorvastatin) Lipitor today and the side effects are a concern. I was wondering if I should increase my physically activity, and eat oatmeal every morning adding a different fruit instead of taking the Lipitor? I don t think I will continue on this site because I didn t think their was going to be a fee since it didn t say it up front. Thanks anyway!!

Hi & Welcome.

Prescribed in the treatment of high blood cholesterol, Lipitor (Atorvastatin) is generally a safer medication however it may cause myopathy (muscle damage) resulting in muscle pain, tenderness, and fatigue. It is also known to cause liver injury and stomach upset.

Along with Atorvastatin you can modify your life style by increased physical activity, eating oatmeals, fruits or vegetables, and avoiding alcohol for the effective control of high blood cholesterol.

Hope this will help.
