Hi and thanks for sharing your query with us on HCM.
Lipozene is touted as a
weight loss product - it contains glucomannan, a vegetable fibre from the root of the konjac plant. When mixed with water, gucomannan expands to become and indigestible gel - this takes up volume in your gut and makes you think you are full. However, this is only in theory - there is no guarantee that this is a sure way to help you lose weight.
Side effects of lipozene include:
1.difficulty swallowing the capsules - the capsule expands in the esophagus and this can be potentially dangerous
2. blood sugar fluctuations - in diabetics, this product can lower your blood sugar levels and when taken along with diabetes medication, it can cause
hypoglycemia. You need to carefully monitor your blood sugar and inform your regular doctor so that the dose of your medication is adjusted
3. severe diarrhea - glucomannan is a laxative and when this is taken for a prolonged period, it can precipitate diarrhea
4. bloating, stomach ache and cramping - this product is full of fiber which will get fermented by the healthy bacteria lining your intestines. This can result in cramps and flatulence
5.
Allergic reaction - you may be allergic to glucomannan. Symptoms include rashes, itching, swelling of face and difficulty breathing
There is no guarantee that this product will help in weight loss. Also, how long do you plan to consume this product? This seems like a fad diet, as soon as you stop it, you might regain the weight lost.
I strongly suggest you review your dietary habits and lifestyle. Eat clean - eliminate sugar and processed foods. Consider going on a Paleo diet. If you do not exercise, try to incorporate some into your routine. If you already are exercising, consider high intensity interval training (HIIT) to improve your results.
Talk to your regular doctor. Try to rule out hormonal issues like
hypothyroidism which can cause one as young as yourself to be
overweight and diabetic. Symptoms include cold hands and feet, cold intolerance, lethargy,
poor appetite, difficulty losing weight, irregular and
heavy periods as well as depression.
If you have access to a functional medicine or holistic doctor, try to see one. They can guide you step by step so that you shed the excess pounds and turn your diabetes around.
I am sorry to have to tell you that Lipozene is not really the answer to weight loss. The bare truth is that there is no magic pill, bullet or procedure to help one shed excess weight. The approach is holistic.
Good luck and take care
