Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
Lorazepam is a benzodiazepine drug and the drug is a commonly used hypnotic drug. The drug is a safe drug but its continuous and regular use may worsen a number of conditions and it also increased cognitive impairment. It can cause nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache etc as side effects in commonly used doses. It has potential to cause dependence and tolerance. It is a commonly used drug of abuse. The problems of difficulty in solving crossword, difficulty in reading etc are probably occurring due to cognitive impairment caused by that drug. If you want to get off from that drug then best way is to taper the doses gradually over 4-6 weeks. Start reducing the doses by 20-25% every two weeks and then stop completely at about 6 weeks. Tapering in this manner will prevent any side effects and you will have smooth withdrawal. Discuss with a psychiatrist for detailed prescription.
Thanks, hope this helps you. Take care
