What Are The Side Effects Of Meprate?

Hello Dr. My name is vizhi.i got married by feb. To avoid mensus during marriage time i took meprate to preponed my period as advised by my doc.but it dint work. I dint get mensus.later 2 3 days aftr marriage i got periods. But its not like my usual one. Only 2 days my periods lasted. March month also i dint get my date. I tested for pregnancy. Its negative. Am afraid if its becoz of meprate tablet i took. Or wat might be the issue. plz tel me the reason..

I read your query and I understand your concerns.
Following is my Advice: 1) You can stop the tablets anytime now. 2) You will get periods within about 5 days after stopping the meprate.

sually after taking meprate for 5 days you will get periods in a week's time..

If still you dont get periods, get a pregnancy test with early morning urine sample.. If negative, get a scan done to see for endometrial thickness. if thickness is greater than 8mm, it will bleed with meprate.. Otherwise you will have to take a course of OCP's to build up the endometrium.

Stress, climatic changes can also cause change in periods.
