What Are The Side Effects Of Mifegest?

Dear Doc s my wife is pregnant and she is 6.2 weeks pregnant. We consulted a gyne n she prescribed 1mefigest 200mg on 14 th Dec and 6 cytology 200mg on 16 dec(9&9:30am,3&3:30am, 9&9:30am) along wit domstal & meftal spas. Q1. As per other posts it s only 2 doses of cytolog, so confused. Q2 . Will this medication is sufficient to clear do pregnancy ? Q3 . Is there any major side effects and in future can she be able to conceive without any problems to the child. Like down syndrome . Q4. How does these tablets work? I know it s lot of questions but I m really worried n not able to sleep n also worried what my wife will go thro the next few days...

Hi.... Gone through your query to answer your questions
1. There are various regimens and doses of use of Mifepristone and MCytolog tablet so its not an issue. Stick to the regimen your doctor had advised.
2. With 6 weeks 2 days pregnancy more than 95% chance is there it will be successful with medicines alone.
3. There is absolutely no major side effects of medical abortion apart from drug related side effects & why are you specifically worried about Downs syndrome? Its cause is no way related to abortion. Basically advanced mother age is of concern. Now a days you have lot many tests to diagnose Down syndrome baby at the earliest.
Basically Mefigest will detach the sac from its attachment and Cytolog will cause uterus contraction to expell the detached sac through cervix opening and vagina.
