Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I am taking 2 ) 30 mg of morphine sulfate. I have just taken my third does. I was on 30 mg of oxycontin also 2 times daily. I feel horrible and am in much pain. IS this normal , or is this new med not working for me? IS there an adjustment period from the switch that is allowing all this pain?Dr switch me due t expense.
the same amount of oxycontin is stronger than morphine. 30mg of morphine are the equivalent of 20 or less mg of oxycontin, so this is dose de-escalation actually! I don't know the cause of your pain or the details of your medical history but if your doctor wants to give you an equivalent drug then the dose will have to be increased.
Kind Regards!
