Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Until last year I took Parnate for depression, for almost 30 years. It worked really well for me. I never had any problems with the food or drug restrictions. Over the years a few other doctors have recommended getting off the Parnate because at some point I might need certain medications or have health problems where I would not be able to be on this medication. Also the cost of it is very high; okay when I have health insurance but awful when I ve had none. (Don t even go into the Obamacare issue with me because I hate it. If you are unemployed you may not be able to afford any health insurance. I m 56 so I ve been around the block a couple of times.) Withdrawal from the Parnate was very difficult, but I made it through. I m taking Cymbalta and Wellbutrin now, but I don t think they work nearly as well. My question is: What kind of health issues might occur in the future in which Parnate would be a problem?
