What Are The Side Effects Of Plavix?

Thank you so much. Yes, I was put on Plavix about a yr ago after tia with no side effects from tia. I am 81 but just recently started having trouble with speech, blurred vision, trembling, more trouble with stability and ears hurting all the time. Is this due to Plavix or what? It is terrible. I am an outgoing person and love talking to people but getting withdrawn due to trouble getting words out and my thinking.

The symptoms described in your history are suggestive of stroke due to bleeding.

Plavix is basically used to prevent blood clots after a recent heart attack or stroke, and in people with certain disorders of the heart or blood vessels.

The common side effect of Plavix include bleeding from the nose or stomach, bruises, etc.

The symptoms described in your query are suggestive of impending stroke which could have developed due to bleeding.

Had you been my patient I would have immediately sought a neurological consultation to rule out the bleeding with relevant investigations like CT or MRI scan.
