Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
This is used for emergency
contraception under the supervision of the doctor (gynecologist). It contains 0.75
levonorgestrel in each tab.
If regular contraception is required, there are many other methods. Remember, it is a protection against STD or HIV. As it is not used for regular contraception, it is relatively safe and following are possible side effects.
• Nausea and vomiting
• Bleeding disturbances like
breakthrough bleeding or withdrawal bleeding, in case it is heavy and continuous, one should see a gynecologist
• Breast tenderness, headache, dizziness, and fatigue
• If you take antibiotics or analgesics then it may reduce its effectiveness
• If you have asthma, diabetes,
thrombosis, high lipids, depression, stroke, then you should avoid taking
postinor 2 or inform your gynecologist
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhilesh Dubey
