What Are The Side Effects Of Prednisone Tablets?

I was on Prednisone for more than a year, starting at 50 mgs for Cryptogenic Organizing Pneumonia (BOOP) Very slowly weaned off, finally after 2 weeks on 1 mg , I stopped 4 days ago. I now am feeling lousy, fatigued, mood swings, restlessness..How long are the effects likely going to last?

Quite a while, but it is very difficult to predict given the previous slow wean. Steroids have many effects including the regulation of sodium and potassium Getting a check of electrolytes is cheap, quick, easy, and can be an easily reversible side effect of the long term prednisone use. If the sodium regulation is messed up from steroid withdrawal the sodium would be low, but a decent salt intake with lowering how much water is taken along with making sure there are not medications that will further lower the sodium (*diuretics) will often make someone feel better.
