What Are The Side Effects Of Pristiq?

I am currently on Pristiq (100 mg). I do not have high blood pressure at this time, but am 53 years old and am afraid it may come shortly as I have a very strong familial history of HBP. I see my blood pressure is inching up in the last two years. What anti depressant can I take instead of Pristiq when my BP becomes high?

Welcome to HCM.
I understand your concern.
Pristiq is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI). It may increase the blood pressure in a small percentage of people and if your blood pressure crosses 140/90, then you may consider changing the antidepressant. There are two other popular groups-selective serotonin re uptake inhibitors (SSRI) and tricyclic antidepressants; hypertension occurs very rarely with these drugs (less than 0.01% of cases) and is generally clinically insignificant.
