What Are The Side Effects Of Sertraline?

I have been on Sertraline for 3 years - started at 50 mgs and increased gradualy to 200 mgs for 1 year. I am not feeling better and have decreased gradualy over 6 months to 75 mgs.

Started to further wean off sertraline and taking alternative - lithium oratate. Did not feel good weaning and taking both - so stopped sertraline and started taking 5htp, lto3, and omega 3 in addition to lithium oratate.

At firs it was tough (extreme mood swings, trouble sleeping, diarhea, withdrawal feelings) but now after 2.5 weeks, I'm feeling better. I was told by homeopathic doctor from france that it would take about 4 weeks to get through the tough moments of weaning off, but that after I would feel much better.

I want to know if there are any negative effects and if so what they are on the brain and or body and organs to going off Sertraline as per my approach so far?

Or is all the side effects just temporary until you body is cleaned of them.\?

Also, are the alternative natural remedies ok and not harmful?

Should I be concerned about any potential problems?

Please help me out - my doctor is not redeptive to homeopathic remedies or going off sertraline.

I really want to move on but not put my body in any danger.
