My son got infected with UTI at age of 6 months and was detected with hypoplastic kidney (left side). It was declred in tests that he had VU reflux of grade -4 in MCU and of grade-3 in DMSA.He was discharged and now is being given 6 ml of 250mg sporidex daily.he s now almost 5 years old and has never got any UTi again.Urine routine and cerun cretanine are the tests that we were asked for and we are doing that as advised .My question is that had sporidex got any harmful affects. And secondly when we can opt for his surgery or we can wait till he s again ill.
You should stop giving him Sporidex as there is no more UTI. Major side effect is that the child would become resistant to it. You should take child to a pediatrician to evaluate whether he needs surgery or not depending on the condition of his kidneys.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
