What Are The Side Effects Of Zantac And Zyrtec?

My 6 month old has been sick and they put her on an antibiotic but when it was time for the second dose i gave it with her other. Meds zantac and zyrtec and now she is having cold sweats and read that they are associated with SIDS should i take her to e.r. or is this normal?

Hello,
Thanks for the concern. According to you your 6 month old child was sick and put her on antibiotic with Zantac and Zyrtec and during second dose she was having colds and sweats
Zantac contains ranitidine which is used for acidity and Zyrtec contains cetrizine which is used for allergy or running nose and both this drug doesnot have any drug interaction with any antibiotic. So there is nil chances of having colds and sweats with these drugs. but the chances may be over dosage of drug which can cause such symptoms. So at present stop taking this drugs and immediately consult the paediatrician and adjust the dose under his guidance and than give this medicines.
